I am young, enthusiastic individual investor in the North Jersey/NYC area. I graduated from business school in 2010 and I am currently working as a corporate restructuring consultant for a mid size firm in NYC which specializes in providing advisory services to distressed companies, lender groups/committees, etc., inside and outside of bankruptcy across various industries (majority of my experience is in real estate). I am a 64 retired investment fund manager seeking to personally invest from $50,000-$250,000 in small businesses. I have significant contacts across many fields and relationships with other investors. I also have a law degree. Depending on the situation and needs, I can take an active role in the day to day operations, or act as more of an advisor. I was the co founder of a debt fund which funded private equity buyouts of small to medium size businesses. We started with 4 employees and grew to almost 100 employees at our peak. I structured and approved all investments. The fund went public and I retired several years later. I have invested in multifamily real estate, as well as technology, internet, software, retail, and finance businesses.
